Major Revision of Microsoft Security Bulletin (MS10-025)

Microsoft Security Bulletin MS10-025 has been updated as it has undergone a major revision increment. This bulletin was a part of Microsoft’s security bulletin summary for April 2010. The original security update is no longer available due to quality issues. Microsoft will issue an update for this software once the testing is complete to ensure a higher degree of quality.

Microsoft revised the security bulletin MS10-025 because the original security update did not protect systems from the vulnerability described in the bulletin. This security bulletin, rated “Critical”, was supposed to address “Remote Code Execution” vulnerability in Microsoft Windows 2000 Server running Windows Media Services,

I will suggest users to apply one of the workarounds described in the bulletin. This will help mitigate the impact of affected systems until a revised security update is made available. To view updated information of this bulletin and the workaround please visit the Microsoft Security Bulletin MS10-025 – Critical page.
