Phishing scams are commonly carried out with specially crafted emails which look a lot like legitimate ones. Anybody who is new to the Internet can be easily tricked by a sophisticated phishing scam that attempts to get valuable information. Scammers send bulk emails to random email addresses in their possession. Typically, the message will appear to have come from a bank or financial institution. I came across one such email that pretends to be from Axis bank.

The email misguides users by saying that “Your account generated an error in our new security system and to fix it click on the Resolve this problem tab given below. If the user clicks on it, he gets redirected to hxxp://shuttleservicenewjersey.com/libraries/domit/theme/ indexx.html and is asked to secure his account by providing his login ID and the password.

This fraudulent page holds a close resemblance to the genuine Axis bank login page. So anyone can get tricked easily if he/she does not verify the URL.

Quick Heal detects and blocks such phishing pages and protects its users.
