The website has said in a blog post that it would give developers of applications access to the contact information of users who install their apps. Facebook is putting at risk the phone numbers and addresses of its 500+ million users. While this decision is upto Facebook, you as a user can protect yourself by not making your phone number and address available on Facebook.
