Facebook is flooded with new scam messages which say “Free Ray-Ban Sunglasses and TOMS shoes”. This time scammers are using popular brand names like Ray-Ban sunglasses and TOMS shoes to trick Facebook users.
This is a similar sort of Facebook scam wherein free merchandise is advertised. The scam lures users by giving them the prospect of exciting offers and then redirects them to online surveys.
In this scam, if you click on the links you will be taken to pages which try to trick you into sharing the link further amongst your Facebook friends. Additionally, it asks you to submit your email ID as well.
In some cases, scammers may ask you for some more information like your mobile number, credit card details, age, sex and even your postal address. In this way innocent users fall to spot potential identity theft.
We recommend that Facebook users stay away from such scams. Furthermore, installing the best anti-spam software on a machine is something that will provide added protection against such malicious threats over social networks.
