DNSChanger server shutdown deadline looming

Quick Heal would like to remind its users about the impending DNSChanger server shutdown on July 9th. If you have been following this piece of news, you will be aware that the shutdown deadline is now just two days away. People who still have this malware on their machine will not be able to access the Internet from July 9th onwards. There have been multiple warnings and notifications about this issue for a while now, but we have read reports that there are still around 250,000 infected machines all around the world. Quick Heal users need not worry though. Detection for this malware has been present for a while and our users are completely protected against this threat.

Machines that have this malware present on them could also be susceptible to other threats and infections. People who have ignored previous warnings will have to face up to a complete loss of web access now. We regret the inconvenience that will be caused to them, but it is certainly for the greater good. Please refer to our earlier post on DNSChanger for more information about the case.

  If you have Quick Heal installed you can surf freely on 9th July. Your PC is secure. Machines that are infected and not protected may be infected with this malware. Those are the machines that will be unable to surf.

  You can remove the infection from the PC after 9th July. But if your machine is not secured then you will lose access to the Internet. No formatting will be required.

Well i use quick heal that means i’m protected but what to do if your machine have the malware . and one thing i don’t understand how those machines with malwares will forever loss internet access.
And if they loss access internet access after the doom day they always have the option to reinstall windows and everything will be fine .
If i’m wrong Please enlight me.

I purchased the quick heal antivirus on 05/07/12. It shows the notice that protection is out of date . When I try to update it updates and shows notice that the version of total security you have is update but notice in Dashboard is same that protection is out of date even windows 7 is showing that my vires protectionis update. I had installed QH server edition 2011 in June 2011. After 1 yr. ie. in July 2012 I have again been given QH server edition 2011 by the vendor for renewal. Do I need QH server edition 2012 or can I still renew with QH server edition 2011?

Hi!!! Good work, whether there was any reported shut down of internet on 09/07/2012 all over the world. I heard that no computers in India affected on that day, because of DNS malware, is it true?

  There were around 19,000 machines in India that were still afflicted with the malware before the deadline. Whether they managed to avoid Internet stoppage or not is unknown as yet.

I HAVE BEEN USING QUICKHEAL FROM LAST 7 MONTHS… AND YESTERDAY I TOOK SOME FILES FROM MY FRIENDS PENDRIVE HOPING THAT MY ANIVIRUS WOULD CATCH THE VIRUSES AND TROJANS.. BUT IT DID NOT IT WAS MY SCHEDULED SCANNING THAT CLEANED THE VIRUS AND I GOT SEVEN TROJANS AND 3 UNSPECIFIED VIRUSES FROM MY HARDDISK.. AND 4 TROJANS FROM PENDRIVE>>
