Caution: Government of India Compensation Scam

Some people are not content with being duped once and the worldwide army of fraud practitioners is happy to oblige them with a second opportunity. This second chance comes in the form of compensation to some Indian JOB SEEKERS so that they can start with their own business. This phishing mail is specifically being designed for the people of India currently looking for jobs.

You would think that having been burned once, a fraud victim would be the last person to fall for something like this. Judging by how common these scams are though, this appears to be an invalid conclusion.

We find it hard to believe that these emails are once again targeted at previous victims. People who have been scammed once and are ready to be scammed again.
Those who think they can get the offered “Compensation” without having been scammed in the first place.

Here’s a fairly typical example – :

This phishing email which pretends to be from the the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA asks you your personal info such as:
1. BENEFICIARY FULL HOME ADDRESSEE:
2. BENEFICIARY TELEPHONE NUMBER:
3. BENEFICIARY BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS:
4. BENEFICIARY AGE:
5. BENEFICIARY RECENT PASSPORT OR PAN CARD:

Do not reply to such fraudulent mails and avoid sharing your personal and confidential information.
Use genuine websites for seeking jobs and take additional care while dealing with mails related to jobs and online money transfer as well.
