Caution – Apple Anniversary Awards Scam

Recently I came across an email which pretends to be from Apple corporate office. The email reads, that the company is conducting an Apple ongoing Anniversary award ceremony and that the reader is the lucky winner to have won the award of Five Hundred Thousand Great British Pounds (500,000.00) through a computer ballot.

It further requests the user’s information in case the user wants to redeem the award. The text reads – Kindly do provide us the detailed information and we will get back to you soon.

5. Marital Status:

6. Occupation:

8. Age:

9. Email:

10. Annual Income:

Such information helps in collecting database of customers. Mischief mongers such as spammers may use this database for carrying out fraudulent activities like phishing. Take additional care if you come across such fraudulent emails and do not share any personal information.
